The Contacts Backup functionality allows you to generate a backup file of contacts from managed devices, useful in cases of device loss or theft.
Prerequisites:
Fully Managed;
Pulsus 4.9.65+;
Device connected to the internet.
Use Cases:
Protection against loss of critical information: Preserves strategic contacts of clients, suppliers, and partners, preventing losses when switching or losing devices. In sales teams, it ensures continuity of negotiations even after terminations or device replacements, for example.
Ease in device transition and replacement: Enables contact restoration when switching devices, reducing productivity impacts.
Reduced operational impact during terminations and departures: Recovers contacts from former employees to maintain operational continuity.
How it Works:
This feature can be triggered via the Web Portal in the following ways:
By accessing the device's details page and clicking on the Contact Backup icon in the top action menu:
By selecting the devices you want to back up contacts from on the device list page and clicking on the backup icon in the actions menu (allowing backups to be generated for two or more devices at the same time):
When you go to a Group's details page and click the Contact Backup icon located in the top actions menu, a backup will be created for every device associated with that Group.
To view a list of generated backup files and download them, navigate to the device's details page. From there, select the Contact Backups tab and then click on the Download File button, as illustrated below:
The .vcf file containing the list of all contacts registered on the device will be downloaded.
NOTE: Generating and making the contact backup file available may take a few minutes, depending on the device's internet connection.
