Adding the Pulsus Windows Agent to Your Antivirus Allowlist

Updated over a month ago

This article aims to explain how to add the Pulsus Windows MDM agent to the AllowList of your antivirus software and Windows Defender. This action is necessary to prevent blocks and ensure our agent functions correctly on devices.

The steps may vary slightly depending on your antivirus version. If you encounter any difficulties, please consult your security software's specific documentation or contact our support.

Important: Even though the agent is signed by an official digital certificate—which guarantees its authenticity and integrity—we recommend manually adding it to your antivirus's "AllowList." This is because many antiviruses also evaluate program behavior, and the MDM agent, by handling actions such as system information collection and remote command execution, might be mistaken for malicious software. To prevent undue blocks and ensure the full functionality of Pulsus, this inclusion is a recommended practice.

1. Identifying Pulsus Agent Components

To ensure all aspects of the Pulsus agent function correctly, you'll need to add the following items to the AllowList:

  • The agent's main executable: typically located in folders like C:\Program Files\Pulsus\ and named PulsusAgente.exe.

  • The agent's installation folder: C:\ProgramData\Pulsus.

2. Adding to AllowList in Major Antiviruses

Below, we provide step-by-step instructions for some of the most common antiviruses on the market. Find your antivirus in the list and follow the instructions:

Windows Defender, now known as Windows Security, is integrated into the operating system. To add the Pulsus agent to the AllowList:

  2. Click on Virus & threat protection.

  3. Under Virus & threat protection settings, click on Manage settings.

  4. Scroll down and click Add or remove exclusions under the Exclusions option.
