Windows Devices

Updated over a week ago

With a registered Windows device, it's possible to monitor the information shown in the image below on its details screen by accessing the page (https://app.pulsus.mobi/devices/<device-id>):

On the top bar, the following information is displayed:

  • Quantity of applications installed on the machine;

  • Battery level (if applicable, as desktop computers won't have a battery);

  • Available disk storage (HD or SSD);

  • Free space on SD card (if applicable);

  • Available RAM;

  • Location status.

Information Tab

Below that, on the Information tab, you can view the following details:

  • ID and username;

  • Manufacturer and operating system model;

  • User;

  • Serial number;

  • MAC Address;

  • Pulsus agent version;

  • Group the device belongs to.

Note on Unique Identification (Serial Number) Generation Logic: The Pulsus agent uses specific logic to ensure the unique identification of each managed Windows device:

  • Priority to Manufacturer's Serial Number: Initially, the system attempts to collect the serial number reported directly by the computer manufacturer. This is the primary form of identification.

  • Hardware-based ID (Motherboard and Processor): If the manufacturer's serial number is unavailable or cannot be collected, the system collects the serial number of the motherboard and the processor. These two values are then combined to generate a unique ID for that specific device. The logic behind this is that replacing either of these essential components characterizes the device as new for management purposes.

  • Platform Unique ID Generation (Last Resort): If, for some reason, it's not possible to collect the manufacturer's serial number, nor the serial numbers of the motherboard and processor, the platform generates a unique ID for that device record within the system. This ID ensures that the device is tracked even in the absence of specific hardware information.

Device Location

Still on the Information tab, on the right side, if the device's location is enabled, the information will be presented on the map:

Note: Since Windows computers and notebooks do not have a GPS sensor by default, location is based on the network/IP the device is connected to, and is therefore only an approximate location.

Applications Tab

By accessing the Applications Tab (next to Information), you can verify all applications installed on the device, along with their respective size (when managed by Pulsus), version, and status.

Remote Commands

Finally, in addition to inventory information, on the same registered device details screen, it's possible to execute these three commands remotely using the buttons in the upper right corner:

  • Restart

  • Shutdown

  • Lock (user logoff)
