Bulk Modification of Information or Device Groups via CSV

This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to import a .csv file to modify information or device groups in bulk.

This procedure alters critical data in the system and is irreversible; the action cannot be automatically canceled or undone. If an error occurs, the entire process must be repeated. For this reason, we recommend performing a preliminary test with a single device to understand the platform's behavior before applying the changes to all equipment.

Download the .CSV Template

Access the Devices tab in the environment and, in the upper right corner of the screen, click the button with the "+" symbol.

Select the Add by File option.

In the window that appears, click Download CSV template.

Fill out the CSV

Open the downloaded file in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. The import and update of data are based on the IMEI number of each device, which allows you to change only the necessary information. You can perform these updates for a single device or for dozens of them, if needed.

Fill in the columns as follows:

  • Group: Enter only the PIN numbers of the group you want to transfer the device to. If you want to keep the device in the same group, simply enter the PIN of the group it already belongs to.

  • Identifier: In this field, you will add the IMEI of the devices to be modified. It is essential that the IMEI exactly matches the device, as this is the information the system uses to identify the source device to be updated.

  • User Identifier (ID), Name, Last Name, and E-mail: These are the mandatory group fields that can be changed. Replace them with the name/e-mail you want to change, or keep the current data for that specific device.

Save and import the file

After filling out the file, save it in CSV format.

Return to the environment and, in the same import menu, click Browse to select your document and upload the .csv file to the environment.
