SIM-Card Management
Updated over 3 weeks ago

Attention: This feature is offered as an additional module and requires a PRO plan subscription to access.

The SIM Card Management feature can be understood as a SIM-Card inventory, allowing efficient management through the visualization of the user who is using the device, the device on which it is in use, and the total number of chips managed by status.

As the main benefit, our technology changes the SIM-Card PIN code, preventing the user from placing the corporate chip in another personal device for data consumption, thus avoiding the high consumption of the company's data plan.

Benefits and Use Cases:

  • Savings on data consumption, making it impossible to use the SIM-Card on unauthorized devices;

  • Agility in management, proactively preventing the misuse of SIM cards;

  • SIM-Card inventory, allowing for more precise management of the company's SIM-cards.

Prerequisites:

  • Fully Managed;

  • Android 7+;

  • Pulsus 4.7.07;

  • Professional (PRO) plan add-on.

Attention: When importing the .csv file with the respective ICCIDs and PINs, the Pulsus agent requests from all devices with the respective SIM cards a request for the accessibility service, which must be enabled for the Pulsus agent on these devices.

Let's see how it works below:

Access the SIM Card Management menu and you'll see the following screen. Let's check out how it works next:

In SIM-Card Management, the administrator must download the template CSV file to fill in the SIM-Card Identifier (ICCID), Phone Provider, and current PIN of the respective SIM-Card.

A file named "sample" will be downloaded. Please execute the file and complete it with the required information.

Once you have completed filling in the file, save the changes, upload it to the designated field, and confirm the upload.

After the file is filled out and uploaded, the Pulsus agent identifies the imported ICCIDs and transparently changes the SIM-Card's PIN to a random one, preventing the use of this chip in devices outside the company's technology park.

Once the change is successful, the status of the respective SIM-Card's record on the Pulsus web platform is modified from Pending to PIN Changed.

New chips can be added at any time through the file, and it is also possible to remove a SIM-Card if you no longer wish to manage it.

Below you can see how the SIM-Card Management tool dashboard looks after uploading the information to the file.

After the PIN is changed, if the user removes the SIM card from the company's device and inserts it into a personal device, for example, the SIM card will not work, as it will require the PIN to be unlocked. It will only function again if it is inserted back into the company's device.

To conclude, let's review the main navigation points of the SIM-Card Management screen.

  1. At this point, the number of managed SIM-Cards is displayed:

  2. This is the button to add the list (in .csv format) of SIM-Cards to be managed:

  11. Displays the configured PIN for the SIM-Card upon clicking the display button and entering the administrator password, as shown below:

  12. Displays the configured PUK for that SIM card when clicking the display button and entering the administrator password, as shown below:
