Working Hours for Windows

This article describes how to configure Working Hours, available for Windows devices.

This policy allows you to define time intervals during which the device will be available for use. Companies can restrict the use of corporate computers strictly to working hours, for example, ensuring compliance with workday policies and reducing labor risks and unnecessary costs from unjustified overtime.

How to configure

  1. Access the side menu Windows > Settings:

  2. Click the "+" button in the top right corner to add a new configuration;

  3. Define a name and the groups that should receive the configuration;

  4. Click Configure;

  5. In the "Working Hours" tab, set the days and time intervals during which the devices can be used:

  6. Click "Save" and you're done; the configuration will be applied to the devices in the selected groups.

The working hours will take effect in two situations:

  • When the user is logged into the device and the maximum time limit is reached.

    • In this case, the user will be automatically disconnected after 60 seconds.

  • When the user tries to connect outside the allowed time interval.

    • The user will not be able to log in.

Users will be automatically reactivated within 3 minutes, as soon as the machine is within the allowed hours again.

Attention: When the Windows device is in a domain, it is not possible to block it, as we do not have access to the AD (Active Directory) server. In these cases, the user will be able to log in, but will be logged out again within a few minutes.
