Manage camera usage on Windows devices

Updated this week

Allows you to remotely block or enable camera/webcam usage on Windows devices, ensuring greater control over image capture capabilities on corporate devices.

Prerequisites

  • Windows 10 and Windows 11.

  • Agent Version 1.10.27+.

Use Cases

  1. Corporate environments with sensitive data: Companies dealing with confidential information, such as financial or legal firms, can prevent camera usage to avoid unauthorized document captures or to protect employee privacy.

  2. Educational institutions or shared device locations: In schools, labs, or corporate training, blocking the camera helps protect student and employee privacy, preventing misuse of the feature.

  3. Field teams or industrial operations: Devices used in manufacturing or operational areas can have the camera disabled to reduce distractions, maintain focus on critical activities, and adhere to safety standards.

How it works

The administrator can remotely define whether Windows devices will have camera usage blocked or enabled, ensuring that end-users cannot manually change this setting.

Go to: Windows Menu → Settings → General → Disable camera usage
