Prerequisites for ChromeOS configuration and enrollment

To successfully register devices and apply management policies correctly, it is necessary to ensure that the following requirements are met:

Account and System (Software)

  • Google Admin Console: Access is required with an account that has administrator privileges (specifically "Chrome" or "Mobile device management" privileges).

  • Terms of Service (TOS): The administrator needs to accept Google's terms by accessing the Devices > Chrome > Devices menu in the Admin Console.

Licenses Required

To enable corporate or educational management, your organization must have at least one of these upgrade plans active:

  • ChromeOS Enterprise Upgrade

  • ChromeOS Education Upgrade

  • Kiosk and Signage Upgrade

Hardware and Device Status

  • Equipment: Enrollment is compatible with native ChromeOS devices (such as Chromebooks) or computers running ChromeOS Flex.

  • System status: The device must be on the initial setup screen (factory new or newly formatted).

NOTE: It is mandatory that license enrollment be done before any user logs into the device. If someone has already accessed the machine, it will be necessary to erase the data (factory reset) on the equipment to restart the corporate enrollment process.
